The Air Force tasked ICF with developing WBT and supplemental Mobile-Based Training (MBT) to teach basic simulator (meaning, mannequin medical simulators used to provide training on medical procedures and emergency response) set-up and the running of basic training scenarios. The ICF team developed 4 courses (one for each of the 4 different simulators used by the Air Force), totaling 6 hours of training, using SmartBuilder. To further enrich the learning experience, ICF created 3-D models of all mannequin simulators and virtual “Simulation Rooms" (custom 3-D interactions). The 3-D visual assets were created in Maya and the Simulation Rooms were created with Unity 3-D). The courses are 508-compliant and include pre and post-tests to help Operators assess their learning. The ICF team created 7 additional courses, and in 2020, ICF re-teamed with AFMMAST to update the courseware content, add an additional simulator module, and modernize the product code to ensure its proper operations into the future.
